The way this works is that both the Apple Store and the Play Store categorise apps by all sorts of different categories. If you advertise X as being for social media, news, image sharing, video sharing and macramé then it will appear in all those lists. it doesn't matter what you downloaded it for. So if your app is listed against 37 categories then it's really easy to get listed as first in all of those categories because your app has been downloaded.

So it doesn't matter that X is number one for news. That doesn't mean it is the most used news app. It just means that of all the things listed in the news category it has the most downloads.

Same for Grok. People aren't downloading it for productivity. It might be listing at #1 for productivity but it would also be #1 in the Kiddie Porn Creation category, the #Abuse women you know category and the #I love fascist dictators category if those were categories.
