499 murdersAnyhow, it’s been announced that the murder rate in the UK is the lowest recorded for almost 50 years.
He's probably expecting Donald to send a "beautiful armada" to attack the UK for daring to rule about what happens in the UK
More likely a "beautiful Amanda". 😉
I can’t see what he’s posted, but is our village idiot banging on about freedom of speech again?
I am not sure how our resident racist will process the latest piece of news, given he thinks Somali murder squads are going around, killing us in our beds.

I wouldn’t joke about that 😂
These days I'm increasingly critical of Starmer but I should comment that I regard his visit to China as the right thing to do at this time. It's a shame he didn't achieve more (Visa-free travel is just something most other countries have had for several years eg Fr, De, Nl, etc.). That said I think such visits are not "transactional" so not coming away with much really isn't the issue, more long term strategic and demonstrating a direction.
I do worry about China's human rights record, etc. but then look at how much trade we are doing with places shooting innocent civilians in the street these days. So lots of "I'm unhappy about, unsure about ..." but still right for Starmer to have made the trip.
I think with China it's a case of recognising both its problems but not being able to ignore its increasing status as a political and economic giant. Let's not forget that we supposedly had a 'special relationship' with America despite all its warmongering around the world, and are still trying to preserve a working relationship with it despite its descent into Fascism.
...and who are quite happy to threaten us.
I guess that China does too, but much more subtly. But at least they are still looking for growth and an international stage, rather than retreating back to the 1950s (or 1930s Germany). At the moment, especially given their capacity to get growth through the expansion of green electricity infrastructure (amongst other things), they are playing a blinder: it's not the insular communism of Russia's empire (which needing shielding from the West and capitalism), rather they seem to be harnessing the driving forces of capitalism but within a highly top-down single-party government structure.
