If you Bluesky, this is a delightful dump on a Times columnist who thinks that immigration policy should be based on how people feel rather than actual data.

If you are going to take on Portes in an area of his expertise you really should understand the consequence of your arguments as he will, and is going to make you look pretty silly whilst he points it out. Glancy does not seem to get this.

The "early campaigning" for the coming Council elections is "interesting".

I received a personally addressed letter ie my full name and address on the envelope and Dear <christian name> at the start of the letter from "our Nigel". Not a flyer pushed through all letterboxes near enough the street. Must have cost them a bit but then realised ... (my understanding) is the election spending window for the Council elections doesn't start until 30 MArch so they are getting in more expensive campaigning whilst amounts spent are not limited or monitored.

Yes we had similar, which I mentioned a few days ago. My concern was, where did they get my (and my wife’s) personal details, we are NOT Reform supporters.

Haven't we already had this discussion?

Yes, when I mentioned I had been sent personally addressed mail by Reform, some days or even a week ago.

Actually, notice that Labour (locally) are also leafleting early than usual, and, with more coverage.
