Keir Starmer’s New Year speech
Jan 4, 2024
We need to clean up politics. No more VIP fast lanes. No more kickbacks for colleagues. No more revolving doors between Government and the companies they regulate. I will restore standards in public life with a total crackdown on cronyism.
So jobs "for the boys) eg Doyle, throw all and sundry under busses to try and protect your position. He's just become another Johnson but without the entertainment value.

I suspect this won't be widely reported enough for much of the electorate to notice but I wonder if some candidates will use it in their campaigns
Taxes on UK workers have risen at fastest rate in rich world, says OECD
With Labour under pressure on the economy amid the Iran war, the OECD said a key measure of the total tax paid by workers and their employers rose by the most in the 38-member club of rich nations in 2025.

I believe it's National Flag Shagger Day. If Sir Keir Starmer had an ounce of patriotism this would be the day for his resignation.

I heard the most compelling reason for his resignation yesterday. He sacked Robbins for a serious error of judgement but has repeatedly accepted that he made a serious error of judgement in appointing Mandy so if that is determined a sacking offence for others why isn't it a resigning offence for him?

Starmer speach from 2020

Talking about people who work for him "I celebrated victories on their behalf, I picked up awards on their behalves. When they made mistakes, I carried the can. I never turn on my staff and you should never turn on your staff".

Another U-turn, about turn, change of character ...
