Now, who was it that said the Netherlands were pretty sh!te?
Only 4-0 up after 55 minutes against Sweden, and pretty devastating in attack.

I said over on the CC football thread I fancied them for the SF. Premier League influence of so many players, pace and power with direct attacking the box. Very difficult to defend against, similar to how England were against Croatia.

Water breaks in an aircon stadium are stupid, they impact the game momentum way too much. Any why on earth don't they stop the match clock?

Everyone knows they are stupid and just being allowed because of TV advert money, and probable hidden backhanders, but what do you expect from the US?

Even the BBC have given up and are now referring to the periods before and after hydration as 'quarters'. They were slightly taking the piss, obvs.

Really enjoying these 3am kick offs, when the important half of the world is fast asleep.
Talking of which, I am surprised that more Americans aren’t asking the important question: Why didn’t the Europe team qualify?

I’m starting to realise how little interest I’ve paid to football in the last few years. There are players doing press conferences for England I’ve never heard of and I also hadn’t heard of the player Man City are buying from Forest.

Cape Verde, with a population of about 150k, have clearly demonstrated that the way forward for Scotland is to only allow people from the diaspora of Dundee to play for the national team.

When Celtic won the European Cup all their players were from a 10 mile radius of the ground.
So maybe, yeah.
