My daughter was complaining that she wanted to grow up to be a reactionary pub bore, but felt denied the opportunity by her gender. I said that serving drinks to reactionary pub bores while showing a bit of cleavage was a necessary and noble calling, and the sooner she made peace with her lot the happier her life would be.

Farmer?
The farmer wants a wife, and mudders is a Land Girl, surely?

Sometimes I think a farm-wife would be nice .

Don't they traditionally, do all the paperwork, and then knock up a batch of warm scones whilst sporting a floury pinny, and rosy apple cheeks??

Sounds kinda appealing

But don't they then throw those scones at owners of posh restaurants and get arrested for it? Or was that a flapjack...

Nope. A Charge Nurse is a senior Nurse (in charge of other Nurses you see).
But gender assumption is endemic in those professions.

Isn’t (or wasn’t) Charge Nurse the male version of Staff Nurse?

Bit out of touch with Nursing job titles now. Have a nephew who is (I feel sure) a Staff Nurse, and daughter No1 is a Senior Nurse Practioner, but, the “in house” (staff) Nurse (Ms @BoldonLad) has been retired for 14+ years now ;)

No.
Staff nurse: male or female.
Charge nurse: male or female.
Charge nurses the bosses of staff nurses, though staff nurses - qualified is all it means - sometimes in charge of the ward, say, when Charge nurse absent on hols or leave or whatever.

You're correct, Band 7 Nurses (Sister) is the equivalent of a Charge Nurse.
My mistake.

My mistake, Sister is the Equivalent to a Charge Nurse (as you point out).

Here you go: "it's called horseshoe theory because it's the sort of thing you believe if you have been kicked in the head by a horse"

Thanks - not sure if I've got the full context, however.

In my experience there is as much limited thinking in the centre of politics as towards the extremes - it's that that allows manipulative extremes to get credence.
