He may be doing that, but despite all his bullying and swaggering he is only an elected public servant. He'll be voted out in 4 years without question because the rationale for those laws, and the effects of ignoring them, will become very apparent.

It's going to go exactly the same way it went last time.

With America’s standing on the world stage greatly diminished.

He doesn't need to be voted out. He can only do 2 terms. The question is whether they get 4 years of Trump followed by a possible 8 years of Vance or whether the Democrats can sort themselves out and produce some better candidates and policies. I wouldn't even be that surprised if Trump stood aside for Vance before his term ends.

How do you guys fancy a Vance/Musk ticket in 2028?

Assuming there will be elections in four years time.

By he'll be voted out, I meant him and everyone with him.

I reckon there's a good chance trump and/or elon will be finished off by a disgruntled maga type exercising their 2nd amendment rights - after all two of them have already had a go at trump.

At the moment. Do you want to bet that he won't introduce a Presidential order to allow more terms? Whether the Republicans would pass it is another matter.

They clearly wouldn't. Too many want a crack of the whip and that extends to Vance...

Good luck with that
ALthough that is how it is supposed to go - I am worried that after all this current pratting about

Then the next bit - maybe behind a smokescreen - will be to "fiddle" with the voting
and force through a change to allow trump to stand again

I can see it happening unless the less crazy people in Congress do something about it
he is already bypassing COngress all the time - how long before it becomes the norm???

Press conference today and trump said that he owns properties - wonderful properties - in STarmer's country
Turnbury
Aberdeen (???)
and a nice little golf course in Ireland (sorry forgotten the name)
County Clare to be more accurate
in other words - in the Republic or Ireland and not Northern Ireland

and - I have just found out

in the invitation to the press for teh conference it referred to Starmer as the Prime Minister of Great Britain and Ireland

same mistake
twice

Yup. He owns the Menie Estate in Aberdeen which included beautiful grounds that he turned into a golf course (Trump international scotland) causing extensive environmental damage. He pretended to be investing $1bn, but invested far less. The Menie estate includes MacLeod House and Lodge which is now a 5 star hotel. The Menie resort has never turned a profit and loses about £1.5 million per year.

He also bought Turnberry Golf Course which included the ruins of Turnberry Castle and lighthouse (now a two bedroom holiday home). It actually turned a profit in 2024 for the first time.

He has also bought a third chunk of Aberdeen to make another golf course which has caused a lot of local objections from environmental campaigners. That one opens in 2025.

And of course he owns Doonbeg which is in Ireland, another country entirely. Trump clearly failed Geography. Guess what, Doonbeg only made a profit for the first time in 2020 - largely following Presidential visits and after encouraging other US officials to stay at his properties. The US Military spent $184,000 at Trump resorts.
