A 2018 Crimea Declaration from Mike Pompeo, secretary of state during Donald Trump’s first term said: “The United States rejects Russia’s attempted annexation of Crimea and pledges to maintain this policy until Ukraine’s territorial integrity is restored.”

Which again highlights how far Trump and his cronies can be trusted to keep their word, keep their security guarantees.

I think you are being a little unfair there. I am sure Trump is right, Putin wants Peace, the problem is that Putin wants Peace when he has got everything he wants, not when Trump wants it.

And the really weird thing is, having been shown what he's like and capable of, having been on the receiving endof how he treats his close allies, UK Gov. is bending over every which way to try and stay on their good side, offering Trump every honour, etc.

It might cost it a bit but why can't UK leadership grow a bit of backbone, develop even one moral and stand up and say "Not acceptable".

Putin was more willing to do a peace deal when the western weapons where leading to Ukraine gaining ground, hitting them where it hurts etc. But then came Trump and now Putin feels like the puppet master again so he is in now rush, his big example is Stalin hell does he care how many people have to die.
