Maybe a lot worse as Trump never does detail, never does research so he was probably totally unaware that Putin was demanding Ukraine give up its heavily fortified lines, the lines that are stopping Russia walking through the rest of Ukraine. Give up those lines and Russia has the rest of Ukraine. But that's detail and beyong Trump's abilities.
Amazing his business don't go bust given how his "Art of the Deal" seems to be any deal at any price unconcerned about "small print" or implications ... oh ...

These threads about Russia and Trump are going round in every decreasing circles in concentrating on Trump, who is, always has been and always will be an intellectually limited narcissistic idiot just out for himself. For the time being the US is a lost cause.
The debate about Trump and Russia ignores that the only way to help Ukraine is for the EU and UK to get their acts together, stop fannying around to minimise their defence budgets and increase the resources they allocate to defend Ukraine. Combined they are far wealthier than Russia and could buy the more advanced weapons from the US, who are always ready to make a quick buck.
Although this requires a strong, unified EU, which militarily it has not been for a long time, well before the UK left, so in reality Russia has got what Putin wanted and will sit back waiting for the next ‘real estate’ opportunity… to use Trump’s vernacular.

I agree the US is a "lost cause" (not only in relation to Ukraine/Putin) but Europe's leaders don't appreciate that. They'll all rush off to flatter Trumpo's ego on no notice (and they are our representatives). UK is going to giving Trump a unique honour in the next few weeks which sort of goes into the category of rewarding "being part of the problem not part of the solution".
US will keep selling arm to Europe/UK for supply on to Ukraine without the sycophancy 'cos it's very profitable for US business using manufacturing in the US. Specialist commentators seem to not be rating "US Intelligence" as less important as they were back in Trump's first withholding everything.
Maybe Europe better to spend its time helping Ukraine win rather than watching the US at best continuing to stop Ukraine losing too fast.
Russia is not the mighty world power Trump (and some) seem to assume. It might have land area but its economy eg ranks 45th is GDP PPP behind eg Ireland, Denmark, Germany, Belgium, Austria, etc. (all as individual countries). even on nominal GDP Russia is only 11th, under countries like UK, France, Italy, Canada, Germany, etc. (as individual countries). (World Bank figures).

I was going to press one of the "Like" emolgi options but couldn't work out whigch to use. Laugh? (it is a laughable comment from Trump) or maybe "Cry/Sad" (because it's beyond sad that Trump can believe such drivel), or maybe "Wow" (cos it's still surprising how Trump fails to appreciate the issues and is so wrapped-up in his own ego - though maybe western politicians help him there with their sycophancy), etc.

According to the Kiev post, the city of Pokrovsk and outlying settlements has been retaken by Ukraine troops.
There has been fierce fighting in and around the city and some Russian troops had managed to infiltrate the city after the meat grinder tactics failed.
The city is key to Ukraine's logistics in the Dombas region.
