Watching BBC National News, yesterday, there was a report on a meeting between Putin and various Senior Military Personnel. For the first time, I thought Putin looked stressed and uncomfortable. Maybe the situation is getting to him?

To me even if this attack on one of Putin's residences is even true, so what. The countries are at war and Putin started it. On TV C4 News some expert saying it's some sort of convention you don't go after the other side's leader - why not? So Putin sends hundreds of thousands to their deaths over some historical legacy he's contrived in his mind and yet he stays miles from the front, miles from and personal danger and considers himself exempt from any risk. To me that's just extreme cowardice.
And does anybody really believe Putin hasn't directed and tried to eliminate Zelensky?

None of it rings true anyway, not least as I suspect that Zelenskyy wouldn't want to increase the size of the target on his own back.

They have tried multiple times to assassinate Zelensky.
It's all Russian propaganda to justify their actions, derail the peace talks and (apparently), Donnie was -'shocked' at the suggestion that Putin was targeted when they had their phone call. Nothing like (unverified) info hey Donnie? They are playing him like the fool he is.

Someone did suggest the leaders fighting it out earlier.
Not sure how Russia/Ukraine would pan out but it would put and end to Donnie's advances on Greenland, Canada, Panama, Venezuela...

It always amazes me that they have the nerve to act affronted when Ukraine takes the war back to them. I guess it’s hard to portray everything going well when there are attacks deep inside the Motherland.

There is no evidence that that Ukraine targeted Putin's residence. There's no satellite verification either..
Ukraine avoids civilian targets (unlike the Russians) and have avoided trying to assassinate Putin.
I think there are a few reasons for this.
a) Trying to assassinate a person in power is against the Geneva convention
b) Hitting civilian targets is the same.
c) Striking civilian targets is pointless; it would only propel Russian propaganda and the coalition of the willing may not be so sympathetic so again, strategically, it serves Ukraine better.
The long term is a deep bitterness towards Russian authority in Ukraine. When the fog of war lifts one day, maybe the Russian people will be reminded of this and Ukrainian policy.

At what point are things counted as targeting civilians? As far as I’m concerned this is bought on the population by their Government’s action but considering being without power in a Russian winter could prove fatal. It feels like a fine line from your statement that Ukraine don’t target civilians in the previous post to this post.
