Ahead of the May 9 parade, Putin declares a unilateral ceasefire. Now this is funny because Zelensky has always halted aggression on May 9 because he didn't want to give reason for Russians to resent Ukraine. It's also funny in that this underlines Putin's arrogance - he's declared a ceasefire when normally, ceasefires are reached through mutual agreement. It has another level - Putin is as we know, already paranoid, (fun fact: Putin has 3 doubles, the Ukrainian military joke that 'there are 4 Putin's') is rarely seen in public and has fear for his own safety during the parade.

Zelensky has responded to Putin and the last sentence of his social media statement is poetry.

Ukraine sent 220 drones into Moscow overnight (May 5th-6th) as a probe perhaps?
As a follow up to the above post, Zelensky says now he may not honour the ceasefire for the May 9 parade's. He has never tried to assault the parade but this is making the Russians think about it. Like he is toying with them.

Haha, he does seem to be getting more confident and less on the back foot. Let's hope it gives Putin's possible successors a bit more encouragement to go looking for nice window views.

'Reportedly' is a bit misleading. This factory was definitely hit, what is unknown is the means - Flamingo or not. It's a hell of mess anyway. So this is more of the sh*t storm Putin and you are the turd in the middle of it:

9Let's hope that Putin's cage is a large enough target.

Good for Zelensky. I hope they wreck more installations in Russia. I very much doubt Ukraine will hit Moscow. during the May 9 parade - they don't need to, there's plenty of other targets.
And on that note, some Russian war bloggers (hateful b4stards BTW - 'we need to annihilate them' [Ukraine] and 'crush them' and 'exterminate them') have noted that because there were so may air defence systems (unnecessarily) pulled from other places, it leaves military targets even more exposed than they were already.

Maybe Zelenskyy will use the threat of sending drones to Red Square to leave other areas less well defended... Crimea, for instance...

Crimea is a lame duck. Zelensky has never threatened the May 9 parade's nor attacked Moscow during this period for fear of generating bad will amongst Russians which would also play into the hands of the propaganda machines.

Is the Kerch Bridge no longer useful or emblematic though?

[You're obsessed with this bridge]. I think the bridge was significant a while ago when the Ukrainians wanted to restrict military use of the bridge but the playing field has changed so much since then that it's less important. I have suggested (though it's speculation), that the bridge will be far more useful to Ukraine in the future (and less expensive to rectify) if it's complete.

Ok, thanks. Well, it was a Big Thing early on.
