Supposedly Trump asked Musk to remove the restrictions. I guess that why politicians haven't told Trump what they might be honestly thinking about him, even if the rewards are just something like this (if true).

Can anyone make sense of this, other than the US is funding the Russian invasion of Ukraine?
  • 40,000 tons is roughly 300,000 barrels. The US consumes about 4 million barrels of diesel per day. That means this entire tanker covers less than two hours of American demand. At the same time, the US exports around 1.5 million barrels of diesel a day—meaning this shipment is equivalent to just 4.5 hours of US exports.
  • The voyage from Ust-Luga to US terminals takes 2.5 to 3 weeks. By the time the tanker arrives, the US will have exported over 4 million tons of its own diesel—a hundred times more than what this single tanker is delivering.
  • So, one of the world’s largest diesel exporters is buying diesel from an aggressor state just to cover two hours of domestic consumption?”
PS - The US may have lifted the embargo but AFAIK nobody else has. Does any country have the balls to seize the tanker?

PPS - No. This is how WWIII begins.

Eyebrows Raise When Elon Musk’s Twitter Engagement Shrivels After Destruction of Russian Data Centers

But looking at the average number of likes his posts have been receiving does raise eyebrows. Throughout October, his posts garnered an average of between 17,000 and 81,000 likes per day — until the past two days, the averages slid to a dismal 11,000 and 8,000, respectively.

Torygraph do a daily podcast ‘Ukraine : The Latest” which is highly rated by Campbell & Stewart from ‘The Rest is Politics’ so I might give that a go.
I miss Th BBC UkraineCast with Victoria Derbyshire and Vitaly Shevchencko which ended last year
I heard them mention it in The Rest Is Poltics recently and thought about it.

But for me it more about the longer term trends and getting wrapped up in the daily details can make it harder to form a balanced view about where it's heading overall (so I didn't subscribe).
