We would probably have more posters if you didn't jave to go an ask the admin for an account but the accounts of the two forums would have been linked.(and with linked i mean only the login) So that is one extra step, the other is like some already suggested, not everyone might feel ok discussing politics or just don't feel like make an seperate login to do that, or get all their information from the guy he studied trees on facebook and are therefore not open for other opinions.
Maybe calls from other forums users to other users calling them to put those they don't like or shouldn't like on ignore don't really help either. or Topics that claim that trolls kill forums for example can all be examples of one or a other.
You had to do much the same when it was part of the main site. You had to ask for permission to post in News, Current Affairs & Politics. But that was before you joined. There was a separate site set up, things still ended up on the main site, which is probably why nothing goes back from here to the main site is given when we sign up for a separate sight.
It's not the first time there's been separate sites tagged on either. There's were at least six other sites tagged on, in a similar fashion to this one. Each with their own login. There's only one of them left now.
As for calls to put others on ignore, that's a choice you make. No-one else has control over who you respond to. Or choose to ignore.
Question not asked, but where did the 50 posters go that signed up for this site disappear to. Total members shows 165, last person to sign up to this site is the 215th member.
If someone comes onto any site, because it's unmoderated, and with the stated aim of trying to get it closed down, whilst having "fun" what other name would you use for them? Deleting their account when courts started handing out custodial sentences for what they were posting on here.
Circular arguments that take over multiple threads do not help matters. At one stage the same subject was on nine separate threads, with only two actually about the subject.
Think about how all of the above looks to others, who might just want to join in. It's not a very inviting place to read/look at, and then decide to join. I was glad of the ex bike radar refugees joining up here. Fresh views and more voices on a forum that was dying. On some days, before they joined, 15 posters in a 24 hour period wasn't uncommon.
