Speaking of WTF,
If someone comes onto any site, because it's unmoderated, and with the stated aim of trying to get it closed down, whilst having "fun" what other name would you use for them? Deleting their account when courts started handing out custodial sentences for what they were posting on here.

To echo some of what @classic33 said, there is little doubt in my mind that some on the mothership would look at some of the postings as here as a guest and think WTF?

Undoubtedly, I have seen a fair few over there say as much.

Drago did make a good joke the other day, something along the lines of he avoids NCAP as if he wanted to get insulted he'd just call up his ex wife 😂

Speaking of WTF,

Following the Stockport riots last year the courts started prosecuting people for racist and inflammatory online posts it was noticeable that our MAGA correspondent hurriedly closed his account and his posts were deleted. He came back a while later when it seemed the coast was clearer and upped his use of posts from X, TikTok and other reliable sources such as GBNews.
There were no prosecutions of posters from this site

You had to do much the same when it was part of the main site. You had to ask for permission to post in News, Current Affairs & Politics. But that was before you joined. There was a separate site set up, things still ended up on the main site, which is probably why nothing goes back from here to the main site is given when we sign up for a separate sight.

That's the same with many sites, like for example XDA forums, most reddit's etc. doesn't seem to stop their growth
It's not the first time there's been separate sites tagged on either. There's were at least six other sites tagged on, in a similar fashion to this one. Each with their own login. There's only one of them left now.
reinforcing the point that these seperations are one of the reasons not so much new members jion.

As for calls to put others on ignore, that's a choice you make. No-one else has control over who you respond to. Or choose to ignore.
True, however the question asked was not ''what are the users able to control etc.'' the question was ''why isn't it busier?'' i think things like that contribute in a negative way.

Question not asked, but where did the 50 posters go that signed up for this site disappear to. Total members shows 165, last person to sign up to this site is the 215th member.
To be honest having only 50 awohl members is not that bad at all, we have a few that deleted their account, i assume they are still in that list but i can't be sure, depends a bit on how good the database management is. (good old PHPBB couldn't for example) but there are many reason why people sign up for an site and then disappear, just a bit hard to give one reason for a group of 50 without additional context and or timeframes.

I'm not talking about that example, that one was removed by the admin at some point i believe(as similar misbehavior o the main site) but there is an line in between, for example if you don't talk in the same echo chamber as a certain group that often agrees with eachother and then they start saying things like ''why isn't that person on your ignore etc. like said above everyone is free to ignore/block whoever they want, but if answering the question ''Why isn't it busier?'' i believe things like this contribute greatly to the reason it isn't busier.

Circular arguments that take over multiple threads do not help matters. At one stage the same subject was on nine separate threads, with only two actually about the subject.

Think about how all of the above looks to others, who might just want to join in. It's not a very inviting place to read/look at, and then decide to join. I was glad of the ex bike radar refugees joining up here. Fresh views and more voices on a forum that was dying. On some days, before they joined, 15 posters in a 24 hour period wasn't uncommon.
