Apart from Mudsticks and Claude (both now gone) I'm the only woman on here. I'm obviously more invested in an issue and a thread that affects me far more than it does you for example. Odd that you think I shouldn't be.

The X outrage is selective because it's not a problem unique to X, nor Grok. You only have to look at the number of deep fake celebrity videos to know that so let's not pretend it's a new problem.

Before AI image generators they used Photoshop. Before Photoshop they cut out photos from magazines and stuck different heads on them. Before that they made pornographic drawings. It certainly is selective outrage.

You suggested my posting a lot on an issue that disproportionately affects me was an obsession. If there was a thread on black rights I doubt you'd call a black person posting on it a lot obsessed or post sarcastically about their number of posts.

And if that had been a viable, profitable business back then someone would have done it. It wasn't so they didn't bother. Now, in effect, the same thing can be done in minutes, for free, to a higher standard. That's the unholy marriage of technology and capitalism for you.

And if you had spent more than 30 seconds looking at it, you would realised that ChatGPT has a lot of safeguards and is constantly being updated to try and safeguard against misuse. Of course people will try and abuse it and find ways round, but at least the developers of ChatGPT and other AI are trying to ensure that those AIs are not used for immoral or abusive purposes.

X and Grok have no such qualms. Musks idea of free speech is absolute free speech however abhorrent that freedom might be. Musk thinks it should be ok to take a picture of you and render it as a porno nude or worse. You don't get any say, protection or rights.

Again putting words in others' mouths. You used the word obsession about me. I replied that it was up to others to decide where the obsession lay. Are you a black person? If not this is a non sequitur and we'll find out the answer if such a situation arises.

I often reply to stuff based on my limited knowledge rather than rushing off to Google it and gain debating points. I am trying to convince nobody I am right and am happy to be told stuff I do not know. I have learned a lot about the trans debate based on posts here and links I followed. Similarly I am not an expert on the first thing some people will think about when new technology arrives, as it's not my first thought, and I haven't researched it, but I'll take your word for it.

It's mad to pretend this is not a universal problem. It's going to get worse because $$$$ matter more than anything, to every business, and portraying Altman as morally superior to Musk is like praising the newsagent who puts porn mags on the hard to reach top shelf. I'd rather they all took what ever steps they can to stop their AI being used for porn altogether; none of them will.

As mentioned upthread, you really had to watch your step on the old Twitter if you were a sex realist. Personally I think a lot of the Musk bashing OMG THE PORNO is coming from people (not necessarily here) who hate him just for reversing that, and like porn just fine, thank you.
