Yet more Tory sleaze….

So the story that they knew nothing of Pincher's habits when appointing him to the Whip's office is faling apart....

Interviews with (a) Raab and (b) Lord McDonald on Today this morning were fascinating.

The wording used about the Cabinet Office Propriety and Ethics line on Pincher also looks extraordinary; some thing like they did not reccomend against my reading is that they raised at least yellow flags but were overruled.

I wonder how this would have played out if it had been women he had been groping
Sounds like he started at a bloke's bun and worked round to 'the front'

Still - sounds like a nice bloke - proper sort of person - one of us
and all that

Looks like Michael Fabricant (did I spell that right?? is it an A or a U??) - thinks we should think of Pincher as a victim
hmm - OK:laugh:

It would have been treated differently, I'm sure. It has taken a long time but we are getting to a place where we see sexual harassment of women as the nasty and distressing thing that it is. With men we are still at the stage of laughing it off as drunken horseplay. It's a sign that we don't treat sexual assault on adult males very seriously unfortunately. Credit to those guys who have reported these incidents and spoken out.

Maybe he gets told about this sort of thing on a very regular basis and therefore has no recollection of this example.
That must be it, because I can clearly remember being told by a third party some 10 years ago of sexual misdemeanors of an individual who was of professional interest to me. - And I don't have the benefit of an Eton and Oxford education.

"I must tell you that I can no longer, in good conscience, continue serving in this govt. Conservatives at their best are seen as hard-headed decision makers, guided by strong values...Sadly in the current circumstances, the public are concluding we are now neither."
