It's actually got a rather perkier engine than my first car, a 1.3L Chrysler Sunbeam with, get this, 58bhp!

As mentioned before, I did replace it with the 1.6 engine and that was a lot nipper. I couldn't afford the £2000 for a Lotus engine, and anyway, it would have probably zoomed up the road leaving the chassis and me sitting on the tarmac (and I might have felt obliged to tell the insurance company about the slight modification).
It was at that time I once drove my friend's Mk1 Golf GTi, and that was definitely nippier. As was his 3L Capri, but I never drove that before he wrote it off.

I think he'll have to retire not just from comedy but from public life now, as there's no sugar-coating this, no back-tracking, or plausible deniability. Or he'll follow Linehan into completely losing the plot on everything and keep posting shit on X to make sure everyone knows he's turned into a complete dick.
