It would be quite fun to question Farage on that... there would be two or three good angles to take. Not that anyone really does question Farage properly.

Plumbing the depths (as Mark Twain might have said) - not that Farage has any depths.

I mentioned no drawback.

I did...

It's merely been an advertising hoarding to attract a new owner: "Look how stupidly outrageous we can be - please buy us and we can keep our jobs". Trying to out-Mail the Mail.

ICE cars consume more fuel (thus reducing range of a full tank) the faster they are driven.
Many ICE Cars have speed limiter technology.
Many ICE Cars have Active Cruise Control, or simply Cruise Control.
Doesn't seem to stop speeding.
The point is that in an ICE car you have much greater range due to the large fuel tank, and you refill quite quickly. No-one in an ICE car worries about range. You *might* be more inclined to stick to speed limits based on your MPG - one of the things I liked about my grand scenic was that it has a dashboard mode which essentially let you know you were being a knob and using more fuel than you needed.

You will seldom, if ever, see an EV bombing down the motorway at 90mph.

"Shoplifters claim that a law requiring them not to steal things from shops would 'kill' the shoplifting industry".

I have to say I don't understand this. It is certainly possible to identify where the training data is taken from.

The question for me is who is infringing copyright? Under current law, anyone who broadcasts it, and so on, but the act of creation doesn't involve a person, and that's where legal cases usually focus. With AI generated works, if you follow the money, there's less likely to be a focal point that can be sued.

You must drive on different motorways to those I drive on 😂

Thought the "range anxiety" thing was over done. I distinctly remember a thread on the mothership where a poster insisted that EVERYONE was perfectly practical for long journeys with a bit of forethought and planning.

Not sure if that's selective blindness or if you need an urgent appointment at Specsavers.

I drove 5 hours on the motorway yesterday (?25 and M42. I saw no EVs going at over 80mph. Range rovers, BMWs and Audi's mostly.

Saw plenty of EVs all travelling at 70mph or thereabouts

A survey sample of 1 is not usually considered reliable.
