Well that's no surprise given that they've got an anti-vax nutjob in charge of US health policy and a justice system that's bending more and more to the will of Trump & MAGA.

No surprise, but an indication of going even further down the plughole.

Social media "influencers" need to be held responsible if they are blatantly sharing dangerous or misleading information.
Just my opinion, unlikely ever to come to fruition.
The challenge would be that restrict what they can say and that could reaffirm their message to many, sort of "what they are trying to stop you hearing ...". People seem to ready to believe absolute madness eg that Covid vaccines were really 5G tracking devices (can you image the technological breakthroughs that 5G connectivity small enough to embed in a standard fluid injection needle!)

I think the Social Media platforms need to behave more responsibly as they are the ones providing the platform and audiences (for free). Unfortunately they seem to be moving in the opposite direction becoming less responsible for anything other than their profits.

I don't have kids so am unaware of school curriculum but I wonder if schooling needs to have more focus of teaching kids to question more, to understand how accepting stupid theories can have massive impacts (eg measles deaths). Maybe to appreciate the "Extraordinary claims require extraordinary evidence" and to check sources and recognise reliable sources.
