I enjoyed this video of bike commuting in London on a tube strike day.
Always good to see commuters strike breaking.

Without knowing what %ge of the population comprise the “middle class”, what does that graph tell us?
If the definitions are consistent throughout, it doesn't matter.

It is also almost certain that Temu will currently be in contact with a manufacturer for knock offs.Maybe some interesting thought experiments to be had about smart glasses and the possibility of widespread covert filming (obvs without consent) by members of the public. I guess that the law will be extremely slow to catch up with the consequences.

Sometimes I find myself staring at the exclamation mark key. Perhaps I could use it, just once. Perhaps it wouldn't be so bad. It would fix a lot of things. Everyone knows that an exclamation mark denotes frivolity. It takes the edge off any sentence. It allows you to raise a critical point while communicating that you are not being severe. It allows you to denote irony. But once you'd done it, you'd always know. Even on your deathbed, it would haunt you. You are the kind of daffodil who uses exclamation marks.

I was really quite good at arguing online, back in the old days, on Twitter. I have very few skills, but I am pretty good at pithy abuse - belittling people in a way that looked like victory but was in fact just meanness with an economic use of words. But the truth was, I was becoming cruel, or there was at least a possibility of cruelty developing in me. Each instance involved a subtraction from the parts of myself I wanted to encourage - connection, human empathy, understanding. All these things I've always found permanently out of reach.
This is why you never really win an argument online. You see people have them and even seemingly win them, but they come out of it looking as dirty and bedraggled as the other person. Everyone comes out looking a twat.
This is well worth a read, on the value (or not) of online 'debate'.

Certainly worth reflecting on: "the truth was, I was becoming cruel, or there was at least a possibility of cruelty developing in me. I’ve just read that Apple have cancelled Jon Stewart’s show (didn’t know he had one) for “not playing nice”.
Apparently he and Cobert are getting together to do something but nobody knows what, and TV companies are panicking.
Wonder who else could be joining them?
PS - Jon Stewart’s TV contract is up for renewal soon and is rumoured not to be renewed.
Pulled from his Wiki page #Caveat
So, how can he be canned twice? 🤔
"After his contract with HBO ended, Stewart signed a multi-year show deal with Apple. On September 30, 2021, Stewart's new series, The Problem with Jon Stewart, premiered on Apple TV+. The series featured hour-long, single-subject episodes. In addition to hosting the show, Stewart served as executive producer through his company, Busboy Productions.[135] The show was canceled after two seasons, allegedly due to Apple executives disagreeing with coverage of China and artificial intelligence.[136] Apple's cancelation attracted criticism from the United States House Select Committee on Strategic Competition between the United States and the Chinese Communist Party.[137]"
