I just saw him plainly stating beliefs, and his party's line. (The Reform Guy brought up the Tit Wizard thing, which he didn't deny). Are you talking about Question Time? Or something on Kids TV?

Just that snippet from X. We already know that Piers Morgan is such a chopper you can use his name as an insult, so going up against him like simple makes you seem just as bad. Which is the intention.

That's quite the picture: 162 square miles of solar panels in China in one lot. No wonder the fossil fuel industry is panicking.
That solar installation along with nearby wind turbines and a hydro electric plant generate enough energy to power the whole of the UK on most days. Nearly 30,000MW (Peak in winter is about 45000MW in the summer 15074MW)

Obviously for us to do it we'd need an area the size of Rutland or the Isle of Wight.

As I don't live on or near the Isle of Wight, sounds great. Even better, they will be able to measure it in that international unit of measurement, IsleofWights (cf Waleses)

Didn’t know whether to put this in here or the Trump thread. That explosion in an explosives factory in the US is pretty bad. Not much of anything left, it will be interesting to see how that happened as I assume there all sorts of measures in place to keep the explosives away from ignition sources.

They could use Lincolnshire. There’s nothing much of interest there.

Food for thought.

Conventional wisdom claims that far-right voters are the least supportive of redistribution and the least likely to change their minds when faced with facts about inequality. But my recent study with Lionel Page, Catherine Eckel, Philip Grossman, and Daniel Goldstein suggests otherwise.

Drawing on surveys across six high-income countries, we find that most people dramatically underestimate wage inequality – such as the pay gap between CEOs and the average full-time worker – and most would prefer much lower levels of inequality than they believe exists. When we presented respondents with accurate information about wage inequality, this led those on the far right to become much more supportive of redistribution, narrowing a lot of the gap with voters on the left.

Current betting on the French Lecornu government surviving for more than a trusse has gone up a bit, by making minor concessions (purple) on the timescale (original in red) for raising the retirement age to 64: if I'm reading it right, the PS (socialist party) has said they won't back a censure motion in response, much to the disgust of the Greens and (I'm sure) Mélenchon, who want it to stop at 62y9m (green).

It does seem to be the defining budget battle, and pointing out that (for instance) it's currently 67 in the UK and 70 in Denmark doesn't seem to sway the staunch opponents.
