If the government doesn't come down hard on this and ditch any both-sidesing crap, they will have lost any last shred of moral authority. Once upon a time there was someone called Keir Starmer who was Director of Public Prosecutions who did the right thing. Nowadays all too often he seems to be more concerned about polling.

That’s just a polite way of saying that they are stupid.

The Southport riots were very efficiently snuffed out by emergency measures brought in by a very rookie Labour government in July 2024. That was only 2 years ago but they already need to rediscover themselves

They are being influenced by outside agitators. Punch and Judy are always beating each other up, but you never see the puppet master behind the screen.

Riots always take place in poor areas. It’s not a problem if you have very little to lose in the first place. These people have no voice and the only way they can vent their frustration is via violence as they don’t have the education or vocabulary to do it any other way.

Whilst I agree I'm not sure "they have no voice". I wonder if they have a more voice than I do. I write to my MP (and get ignored), I vote in elections. They have the same available.
