IIRC, it was The Independent in its early days that broke the tradition of only saying nice things in their obituaries.

No one is dancing on her grave.
We have just said we didn’t think she was a very nice person.
If you have different opinions then share your memories.
In case you ever needed to be reminded of the kind and caring nature of some on the left of the political spectrum then a visit to NCAAP after the death of someone on the right will remind you of it. The televised murder of Charlie Kirk in front of his wife and children brought out the worst in some people on here so it shouldn't come as a huge shock that there's a queue forming to dance on the grave of Anne Widdecombe.
Oh I don't know. Someone described her as repulsive upthread, you commented on her being a virgin and asked for some mind bleach. People have criticised her for her voting record on gay rights and yet one of her closest friends and someone who even did speaking tours with her was the openly gay presenter and political commentator Iain Dale. I think he was mature enough to disagree with her opinions without actively hating her because she was basically an old fashioned conservative Christian who stuck by her principles. Don't worry, I know I'm probably in a minority of one again in here.
Her death is now being investigated by the police. No actual details yet, but they don't usually do that without a reason.
It's being treated as a murder enquiry. Grim.

Police looking for white male. I guess they had to get that out there quick.![]()
Very worrying.
Strange to announce her death before announcing a possible murder.
The timeline is weird, her death was announced early enough for Today to report on it, but the police were not called by the ambulance service until 11:40.
