Any school making kids wear the uniforms in those photos should be shut down anyway.

Try QEH in Bristol.

I park opposite that school if I have to take the car into the office. They don’t seem to walk to school dressed like that though.

I suspect these days it's only for formal/official occasions. When I was nearby in the 1970s, the boarders wore it full time, complete with stripey socks, IIRC.

Fraser Nelson discussing immigration and showing that it is possible to be right wing without being a complete loon.

https://frasernelson.substack.com/p/britains-secret-border-control-success

Britain has, overall, been lucky in the quality of its industrious immigrants but with 6.7m on out-of-work benefits they have perhaps been too much of a good thing. It has been madness to shovel hundreds of thousands of Brits on to sickness benefit every day while importing hundreds of thousands of migrant workers. It gives employers the easy option, and stops them trying hard to offer better pay and prospects. It stops care homes paying skilled wage for a skilled job.

The liberal case for border control is to force employers to look to the local unemployed to fill jobs. To force ministers to repair the broken work incentives. Repair the welfare state, reconnect the economy to the people currently excluded from it. It’s not a right wing or left wing: it’s about using border control to promote economic and social cohesion.

Migration is now far better controlled but still too high. Every illegal small-boat crossing is an indictment of government failure and erodes faith in the process. But overall, we see clear and significant progress. A story that Keir Starmer could have told he he been so minded. One of the drawbacks of changing Prime Minister every two years is that they never get the chance to learn. Let’s see if Andy Burnham can do any better.

But if they all wear the same, how will their parents recognise them?

After their public school education they are all interchangeable, so it doesn't matter.

I see that Reform Council member Jex Parkin (real name Richard) doesn’t like it.

What sort of made up name is Jex?

Who knows - propably a nickname he was given. But so what?
All sorts of people use names not on their birth certificates for all sorts of reasons.

Is this not a description of a Ponzi scheme?

Well, I'm no financial expert, but even to a trumpeter, that sets off alarm bells... "Will you back my AI company if I back yours?", which is why I asked. I've got two financial pots, and both are managed now, with a fair degree of caution... I probably ought to check that 'the management' caution includes being wary of the AI bubble, given that they seem to be rigging the market between them.
