So Bidens diplomacy sorted out USA problems

Trump is a businessman and behaves like it. There are no friends in business

The problem is that trump runs a business on a concept that if HE wins then stuff everyone else
then legs it

Other businesses back off in order to create good long term relationships with other businesses in order to make their business more sustainable long term

For example a restaurant not screwing a farmer on the price of chicken in order to allow the farmer more room for manoeuvrer and to keep the supplier friendly - then hoping for co-operation and advantages in the future

so there may be no friends - but there are collaborations and allow them to talk and allow for some give and take

all of which exist in Internation relations - but trump is just binning the whole lot based on winning NOW and stuff what they think in the future

Trump makes further rollbacks on tariffs with Mexico and Canada.
https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/c5y03qleevvo

So much to unpack there - as they say - but this is my favourite line:

"Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau said on Thursday morning he had had a "colourful" conversation about tariffs in a phone call with Trump."
Listening to "The Rest Is Politics (US)" (the Katty Kay and Anthony Scaramucci US version of the Rory Stewart/Alistair Cambell podcast) and they were saying in their opinion the damage has been done whatever happens with the hokey cokey (in out in out ...) tariffs. Canada public opinion has turned and constant on/off/on/off from Trump won't restore Canadian opinions of the US.

I wouldn't be surprised if the Canadian public also expected their government to plan for a less dependent longer term away from the US.
The right wing of the Republican party has literally spent many years and many hundreds of millions of dollars, to ensure it gained control of the 3 branches of government. Even without Trump as it's public head, people such as the Nazi memorabilia collector Harlan Crow, will still be behind the scenes quietly manipulating the levers is power in various manners.
With neighbours like that...........

He is such a snivelling c*nt.

451 UK soldiers lost their lives in Afghanistan since 2001. Not to mention those injured, or the time and stress of combat duty. And this is simply one country that helped based on article 5.

And his VP denigrates these people with his mindless comments and this moron almost certainly isn't even aware.
And UK leadership pulling out every stop and spending every effort to bow and scrape to flatter this guy and in return getting the privilege of being ignored. So now the highest honour the UK can offer such people - an unprecedented 2nd State Visit. What has Trump done to deserve such an honour (or any honour)?

Just been watching a programme about Greenland and Trumps comments about it

" we need for International security"

Hmm - really - so if you take over Greenlandthen you will defend the cause of freedom in the rest of the World

but than his other comments suggest that he won;t defend anyone unless it is to the advantage fo the USA (AKA Trumpland)

and of course he could just offer a treaty with Denmark (sort of like a mini-NATO) guaranteeing Greenland's security in return for maybe the right to base troops and or equipment there

But then he wouldn;t have control over the mineral rights would he??

I wonder if that is more important to him than the ""security" that he keeps talking about
