I understand a fraction of a gram of fentanyl can kill you. So confiscating pounds of the drug is a massive benefit to help saving lives, whether it's comes over the northern or southern border

The difference is that the southern border is where high volume smuggling of fentanyl occurs. On the other hand the Fentanyl coming over the border with Canada on the other hand is confiscated from Americans who have been to a dodgy supplier to get their Fentanyl. In 2022 98 kg were seized at the Mexican border compared to 2kg at the Canadian border.

I'm not disputing the vast majority comes from the southern border . But the tiny quantities can kill.

2kg of fentanyl has the easy potential to kill 1,000,000 people. Stopping it's arrival from any border is certainly worth fighting for

One of the world's largest purchasers of alcohol, the Liquor Control Board of Ontario, ceases the purchase of US goods.

The company sell almost $1bn of American beer, spirits, etc annually.
Other Canadian provinces are also looking to take action.

Total US exports account for less than 3% of GDP for the USA. As a nation, they won't feel a thing.

Wait till the Canadian export market to the US is hit. Itequates to a massive overall chunk of Canadian export market. Enough to plunge the whole economy into recession

Again, a completely disproportionate approach to what is a long standing ally and a friendly neighbour. Bullies tend to sniff the balls of other bigger bullies don't they? Like pack animals so I understand your support for Trumps policy, But to the civilised world it's grotesque along with its threats of annexation of neighbourly lands. It won't stand the test of time, the USA was once an isolationist/America first country, there was a reason it opened itself up. China also, once an isolationist country, opened itself up and became prosperous. USA is on a path which will destroy itself, China must be rubbing their hands together with the gaps it can fill...

I'd missed this in amongst all his other nonsense.

Trump not liking Brutalism is hardly a surprise, given what it represents.

And yes, I'm going to invoke Godwin's Law here, but you know who else wasn't a fan? Hitler.

I don't know what I found most disturbing about that article; the culture war angle pitting "architectural elites" against "ordinary people"; or the closing quote from the new Director of the FBI that he planned to close down the old headquarters and reopen it as a "museum of the deep state."

To paraphrase Unamuno in his response to an unhinged rant by Millán Astray, Trump and his lot will win because they have the reason of force, but they can't convince because they lack the force of reason.

So Bidens diplomacy sorted out USA problems

Trump is a businessman and behaves like it. There are no friends in business.

Running one of the most powerful nations in the world is far more complicated and potentially dangerous than running a business. Not every problem is caused or solved by business methods (The Art of the Deal?), and diplomacy and trust are vital in developing allies and partners.
It is no more or less true that there are no friends in business than that you will not succeed by making a lasting enemy of former partners or breaking deals with them.
Was that the way you became a multi-millionnaire?
