What problems, my mate flies there almost monthly, no issues. He's going this week.
These problems:
  • Some individuals, particularly foreign nationals, have reported being denied entry or having their phones searched for messages critical of the administration.
  • In one instance, a French scientist was denied entry because of messages on his phone critical of Trump.
  • While not explicitly targeting political views, the unpredictable nature of border enforcement has raised concerns.

Prices were already high with Bidens term. So that would not be no issue
Nonsense. Trump has a 245% trade tariff on Chinese goods. What part of that are you finding hard to understand? Food prices will increase 2.8% or 4% for fresh produce.

Being deported, only if you have a criminal record or commit a crime whilst there
Including thought crime? Also, not just deported. Imprisoned first then put on a plane in chains.

Really pìss poor excuses
Nope. Very valid ones. Obviously hard for you to understand.

People don't want to plan an expensive holiday to an unstable country.

Now if you've been bad mouthing a president and the government of a foreign country, why would you want to go there, I wouldn't?

Plus if you did go there I would expect to be barred for being a complete numpty to think action have no consequences. FAFO.

It sounds like USA has literally dodged a big problem. 🤣

Go to China instead, they will certainly uphold your civil rights 👍

As long as you don't pìss them off too 😁

Moron. It's due to
  • increased difficulty at US customs / passport control
  • hugely increased food prices
  • hugely increased goods prices.
  • increased risk of being deported
Where do you think Disney Merch comes from? Universal Merch? (Answer - it's China).
There are daily reports of people having their smartphones checked for detrimental comments about dear leader.
America is not welcoming of people who do not possess white skin.
Also the country is massively unstable as it has an unstable leader.

Plus I simply don’t want to visit a country which has shown support for such backwards views or support their economy.

On the one hand you criticise people who don't want to go there, usually because of the situation caused by Trump, and on the other hand you say you wouldn't want to go to a foreign country where you'd badmouthed the president and country.

Logic clearly not a strong point with you.

Don’t get me started.
My son’s school do a ski trip.
In my day that was a coach journey to the Alps and a coach back.
Their school ski trip is flying to the Rockies. Absolutely bonkers. This is a state school in south London. Not Eton.

Yes, my examples are both state schools.

If you're going to visit a country where the newly elected president has won the popular vote. Don't forget one second expect to not to bump into people who support their leader. Start slagging him off may get you a smack in the mouth in the USA or worse. If you have a problem with the president, you also have a problem with the people that voted him into power.

You would not want to be around such folk, so why would you visit?

If you had been posting on social media, bad mouthing the leader and you knew of the immigration policies why would you even attempt to go. That would be wasted expense if stopped at the border and also very stupid.

Stay at home or go to countries that mirror your political leanings. Everyone seems keen on China at the moment 😁

Seems rather clear, you're being obtuse 🤣

It is certainly true that border guard behaviour plumets depending on national sentiment. I have a strong memory of going through Newark the last time the orange twat was elected, and the queue at customs exceeded the terminal's capacity. (We can't have undocumented British PhDs offering comparatively cheap professional services coming in, can we? At least, not without fingerprinting them and finding out what hotel they are staying in.)

It is also true that slagging off the president, anywhere in the US, is roulette. Right now. California is fairly safe, but you just never know. I was once taken out for the night by a bunch of PhDs with a dim view of George Dubya. Someone came across the restaurant to inform us that we should not speak about the Pres-see-dant like that.

The reason I didn't take up the option to move to the US was because, for all it's wonders (and there are many), it's a deeply farked up society.

My sister has loved there for nearly 40 years. My mate has two businesses there of which I'm an investor. It's a fantastic country, even with it's failings
