The closest I have at home is our 15 year old, he says the expression "brexit tackle" describes a violent careless tackle, not quite the connotation in the original messages.

Maybe it's changing, but in the original messaging there was

so I'm not quite sure why the disbelief that it's used by kids as an insult.

That sounds very similar to the connotation in the post that said ‘where you dive in with no thought about the consequences’ to me.

Glad we're discussing the important political questions of 2026 with the seriousness they deserve.

And there was me just thinking it was quite funny.

As in “What does leaving the EU do to GB? It brexit”.

Even better being a bad pun.

Honestly starting to believe we'll be back in Europe by the time I buy my next bike, as we all know, that is a unit of time.
FWIW about 4 years I reckon.

Providing the Tories and Reform don't get enough seats to form a coalition government I think that we will definitely have increased and improved formal relationships but definitely not membership within four years. That would be less than two years into a new Labour government.

I think poor polling.
I suspect that how people would vote would be very influenced by the terms (and those campaigning would be making full use of the terms imposed on the UK). Asked as YouGov seem to have asked I suspect most answering would be answering "I would vote to rejoin the EU under the same terms we had previously" (ie to go back to where were were before). Add possible terms like adopting or committing to adopt the €, add no rebate, etc. and the result might be different.
