All the "new" law (in Scotland) is doing is adding some more "protected characteristics" to existing hate crime laws. It's really nothing to get worked up about.
It's not especially funny either, in a way it's quite sad that these amendments have been made.
It's going to make Scotland judiciary and political figures a laughing stock.
There will be literally thousands upon thousands of petty complaints made. Same amount of non hate incidents recorded. Then hundreds, if not thousands of a subject access requests on these NHI logs. Then hundreds of court cases to sue the Scottish police to remove the report.
Proper policing (what's left of it) will be drowned and feeling policing will consume endless time

This law is less than 12hrs old and already the head of Scottish policing is saying that the public will lose trust in the police.
