This will have made it difficult for Cass to ascertain how the treatment path was decided or even what the outcomes were as they couldn't follow up older patients. In 30 years GIDS didn't do their own follow ups to see if the treatment resulted in happier adults.

I view people like Aurora in very much the same way as I view racists. They may be absolutely convinced that they are right about the minority group against whom they try to spread hate and intolerance but the end result is just making some people's lives unbearable.

I don't think they warrant anything other than bluntness.

The people who claim to never have been transphobic are now celebrating the start of trans erasure in the UK, while still blaming trans people for feeling angry for having their legally held identities erased. The joy of the transphobes is palpable, but of course they will continue to deny their fascism.

Most people are just happy that young people are going to get holistic care, which means psychological support that explores all aspects of their distress rather than automatic affirmation and just focusing on their gender identity issues.

We know the evidence for puberty blockers resolving distress is weak, so if the result of this new approach is that most children get to 20 plus and have resolved their distress, how can anybody be unhappy with that?

There will always be a small number for whom that gender distress persists and for some it might only be relieved by making cosmetic changes through drugs and surgery as adults. But if for most it resolves on it's own with time and therapy how is that not a win for everybody?

I doubt immediate affirmation was the right approach and more holistic approaches would have been better, albeit time consuming and costly.

If and most are though a pretty big hole for youngsters to fall down with their distress unresolved.

Did you read the High Court Judgement about the waiting list for the former Tavistock GIDS clinic and the evidence of the youngsters concerned.

Men aren't a minority group. I don't hate them either. I know some lovely men. I just don't think they should be in women's single sex spaces and services, even the lovely ones. I don't think this is spreading hate and intolerance.

If you want to make trans people's lives more bearable you could suggest some solutions that don't involve making women's lives more difficult. The fact that you haven't done this despite making hundreds of comments suggests your motivation isn't to help trans people but is rather just to be obnoxious to strangers on the Internet.
