You probably think that "The American College of Paediatricians" is the collective authority representing all paediatricians, don't you, rather than the right-wing pressure group that it actually is.

They also lobby against gay rights and abortion rights. Human rights groups have labelled them a "hate group".

The US medical profession has lots of professional groups, of which the ACP is only one in the paediatric field. Many of these groups are ideologically driven or under the influenceof activists. I wouldn't rule that out with this group either.

As US medicine is driven by money and pharmaceutical influence I don't expect any change in direction over there unless it's forced by legislation in individual states.

Individualised health care, privatisation, and no central national health system means individual doctors can pretty much do as they wish. The statute of limitations on medical negligence cases - can be typically only 2 years - means we're unlikely to see many court cases where doctors are sued for poor practise.

Why would a US doctor reflect on the Cass Report when one surgery brings in $100k? Plus further surgeries/care as some ops have a high complication rate. Plus a lifetime of monthly hormone prescriptions.

There's simply no reason for the US gender industry to even consider putting the brakes on.
