There are so many more important things affecting women's sport. Parity of pay, resources, coverage, training etc etc etc.
But...ooohh! There's a male student riding women's events in some sixth form college somewhere in the US everyone!!!!!
You're right. After all, if we know one thing from history it's that stuff from the USA just doesn't catch on in other countries.

Yes. They say it isn't a competition but keep times and categorise by gender and age group thus allowing people to compare their times to others of their age and gender. It makes a mockery of the stats if you have transwomen in the women's category as they don't post times representative of a woman in the same age group.
According to Parkrun they don't do any of what you say they do.

What's the point of any of that if women don't have fundamental fairness within their own category? You might as well say doping in cycling doesn't matter because it was only a few riders and it doesn't matter until disparity in funding, training, bike quality, is sorted. Fairness is fundamental to sport, not an afterthought when everything else is resolved.

They stopped putting the times on their website after women complained about men being allowed in the women's category. Rather than address that they stopped publishing the times at all. Funnily enough, a lot of competitive men went nuts about not seeing their rankings, which contradicts the 'Nobody thinks it's a race' line.

So the best way to encourage, enhance women's sport is to allow men to participate and exclude further women and girls

Some sixth form student in Utah.
There is a strong evidence base that things that happen in America get picked up / copied by people in other countries.

We don't make our laws on the basis of a few occurrences in America.

That was never suggested. What you suggested is that just because something is happening in America quite publicly it cannot happen here. I suggested that that isn't true.

Oooh, cool. parkrun has been brought up again!

The reason for times being recorded is to make sure we don't leave people out on the course. That's literally it.

Its a suburban park, not the Himalayas, show off record times.

They had timings to encourage folk

It was then abused by TIMs toppling women's results, that why they dropped it. far easier to manage than filter out bogus results
