The Tory party only exists to represent the interests of the wealthy. And the wealthy own the media and control its output. From where do people derive their knowledge of politics and how do they form their opinions?

Why, the media, of course.

“People derive their knowledge of politics”? An oxywhatsit surely? 😊

There may be a grain of truth in it if you believe these idiots.

I'm not sure the green Uturn by Labour will be as damaging as people think. For many working class people, whilst they care about the planet, they also need to consider rising costs, quality of life and putting food on their table whilst try and pay ever rising utility bills. Most people apart from the staunch far right will hopefully want a new party in, as they can't really do any worse

In today's climate, almost anyone who gives a shoot is now woke.
The reasoning behind the madness has always been to get the turkeys to vote for xmas.

And just look over at the US, they also seem to gobble it all up.

Any chance of a synopsis for the disconnected please?

It's footage of Sunak speaking to camera, and pausing to look at a phone notification. The Labour ad has turned it into repeated interruptions, with a screenshot everytime showing that each notification is about bad news arriving under the Tories.

I liked it because its a revenge on the Tories recent editing of a Sadiq Khan speech that was purely mendacious, whereas the Labour ad says nothing that isn't true. It also makes Sunak look hapless.

The crazy Tories are all looking or threatening to leave.

Methinks they are happy for a lame PM to lose the next election. So that the far right keep power and the left of the party take the blame.

At this point they are certain that they will loose and are quite happy for Sunak to stay as the leader so he can be blamed after
The very last thing they want to do is to become leader and then loose the election by a huge amount - which they would - and then loose the leadership as a result

Hence they are now all fighting to look the best option for the next leader - and the impression the "front runners" seem to have is that the member ship want a right wing looney to take the Party forward
hence them all signalling right, right and then right a bit more
leaving and joining Reform would be a dumb move from a career point of view - so they will only do that if they feel they have totally screwed it up - like 30p

The resulting fall out after they loose the next election - essentially if it a total wash out - should be interesting

This does of course leave one major weapon for Sunak - is the party is causing too much trouble for him then he could tell them to either get back in line or he will resign and let them deal with the consequences
This has probably already happened - at least once

It is Reach PLC who spend most of their time promoting their 'fabulous' DWP.
Whilst their supposed purpose is " Each of our trusted titles is a platform to represent and campaign for the voices of the communities we serve and to hold power to account."

Farage reckons he'd be deputy prime minister 'at worst' under a PR system.
Maybe someone needs to teach the old racist how to use the internet:-
https://www.electoral-reform.org.uk...have-looked-with-proportional-representation/

There would be 53 less Tories and 48 more Lib Dems, 18 more Labour and 18 less SNP. The Brexit party would have 3 MPs.

If we go back to 2015, there would have been a hung parliament again and UKIP would have had 44 seats. The Labour and Conservative Parties would have been neck and neck with 255 Con, 250 Lab. Lib Dems would have had 46. The Lib Dems would not have gone into coalition with Cons if they were also in coalition with UKIP. The SNP would have 32. To form a majority government, Labour would have needed to form a coalition with the SNP and Lib Dems.

The Western Morning News gave nearly half a page to the bastard.

At their best showing, Ukip would have had 80 seats under some PR systems, so back then he might have been right in that he possibly could have been deputy PM in a coalition. Not to say that would have lasted more than one term though.

The middle bit is saying what nearly everybody says on the Starmer thread.
