It seems that for decades Israel has been whispering in the ear of US presidents in an attempt to get them to do their dirty work for them, and mostly they've resisted. Trump appears to be the only one stupid / arrogant / blackmailable enought to fall for it.
I appreciate you were answering a different comment but for context I think it important that Iran regime being "bad" does not make attacking and killing them "good". It is possible for two "bad" actors to start fighting each other. The Iranian regime continued to execute political opponents, demonstrators, and Irananians of faiths other than fundamentalist Islam throughout the 1990's. They continued to execute girls and women who had been raped or accused of transgression of the morality laws, and still do. They have never been 'not the bad guy'.
What amazes me with all this is the fact we have a right wing press that has banged on about sovereignty since Brexit, now slavishly telling us that the UK should enter into a war instigated by another country that has f*** all to do with us. I see Labour have got some horrendous plan to pay the families of failed Asylum Seekers up to £40k to leave the country. Perhaps that money would be better spent paying Daily Mail/Telegraph columnists to leave instead. They can go to Dubai and become 'influencers', particularly as they seem to have quickly developed such a great interest in Middle Eastern politics.
Sure Vietnam was far east not middle
I didn't say it did. The context, which you felt necessary to state for your post but ommitted to give for mine, was the suggestion (in my view) that the Iranian regime was somehow moving away from repression in the 90's and would have continued to do so. I'm not sure why you even felt it necessary to quote my post to make your point.I appreciate you were answering a different comment but for context I think it important that Iran regime being "bad" does not make attacking and killing them "good".
