I don't think the cliche holds that much water at the extremities of dog breeding.

I think I may be right in saying that dogs are even more dangerous than cyclists, based on annual fatalities

I wonder what the background story to that was. Makes me wonder if many people are victims of their partner.

Just so I understand: The law now states that XL Bullies must be muzzled when in public. And you're not allowed to breed with them or buy/sell them. And you're not allowed to own one unless you have an exemption certificate? So how does one get an exemption, and what are the grounds for exemption? The only thing I can think of is "the dog is my support mechanism, I want to keep him".

It would appear that you don't have to have a reason, you have to have complied with the list of requirements (micro chip, third party insurance etc) and, pay your £92, and, you have a lethal weapon at your disposal.

Not a banned or controlled breed, however be interesting to see what it was. In any case desperately sad all round :-(

Speaking to my daughter the other day, the anticipated dumping of dogs which hadn't been neutered, has arrived at the vet practice where she works.
On Sunday, one owner, having failed miserably to provide to my daughter a false name and address, simply walked out with the XL bully, tied it a lampost outside the practice and then drove off. (All captured on internal and external CCTV cameras.).
Then at 4:30pm, Merseyside police rang to say they were bringing round 8 XL bullies, all of which had been dumped, for them to be destroyed.
