And another.

Take the rose tinted glasses off.

The 7/10 attack for one under no criteria can be described as self defence.

Wale upand see the fact both sides are in the wrong in their use of violence

Are you denying that the Palestinians are under Israeli occupation?

I am not denying both sides are in the wrong.

Unlike you, I do not have Rose tinted glasses on and do not believe its the case that one side is wrong and the other can do no wrong.

Sadly it would appear you want to perpetuate the divide by trying to prove onside is right and one side is wrong.

Life is rarely so binary

You have a great imagination.

As nobody cares to share any specific vision of what a free Palestine might look like, apart from slogans to put on posters, this thread is really just a list of how awful it all is. We know that already.

I think we understand what a free country looks like. The trouble is that there aren't so many left.

The Israelis have been harassing, imprisoning, evicting, and sometimes killing Palestinians for decades. They have expropriated vast areas of Palestinian land, and basically created a powder-keg which blew up in their faces. Now they're engaged in an increasingly, grotesquely disproportionate response.
And no, I'm not condoning the killings of Israeli civilians.

Very true, both sides are to blame, at various points in the past. As has been mentioned (more than once, I believe) this conflict started way back, the current appalling situation is just the latest iteration.

Oh I am absolutely not saying 'how awful it all is'. I'm saying how awful Israel is. Don't make out like we're all saying there are two equal and opposite antagonists in this because I am not.

But you have nothing sensible to say about what a way out of this awfulness might look like other than nebulous slogans. Where will we be in 5 years time? 10 years?

Israeli forces are able to act with impunity. This will continue until the USA stops funding Israel, or makes funding conditional on a cessation of the slaughter. Most certainly nothing will happen before the US elections. I wouldn't hold your breath for any radical change afterwards.

Where do you think we'll be?

You might not like what @winjim is saying, but at least he's putting something out there. I'd do the same, but as I agree with him there would be little point in parroting the same stance.

I don't know how much clearer I can be. Israel stops doing what it is doing.

You don't even have any idea of what Palestine being free means, not even in your own eyes. You have no clue about how there could be a path forward other than Israel capitulates to all your vague demands.

All he's putting out there is slogans. I think Israel should cease hostilities asap. They're probably negotiating re the hostages already but I think Hamas should return the ones that are still alive immediately. There needs to be an interim governing authority put in place in Gaza - I don't know how you would even start that given that the UN are useless and Hamas are in everything, but maybe Muslim neighbours could assist. Start rebuilding it with international aid and the money not being siphoned off to terrorists.

Long term? If Netanyahu and Hamas are gone there will be an opportunity to look again at a 2 state solution and Israel withdrawing from the expansion settlements. Anything other than that is a non starter.
