Is this the Israeli equivalent of seeking Muslim opinion and only asking one-eyed, hook waving shouty lunatics?

Except that opinion polls suggest that most Israelis approve of what they know about the IDF's actions in Gaza.

You dont need me to point out that approval of extensive military action does not mean they hold the same views as those two women.

I wonder if Israeli media are accurately reporting the plight of the Palestinians. And if much of the Israeli population is not getting to see what is really happening or getting biased reporting can they form opinions as they might under different circumstances (eg different victims in a different country).

Maybe like the Russian population supporting the war against the west being fought on Ukrainian soil.

Haaretz is pretty much all over it, albeit framed in a way implicitly sympathetic to liberal Zionism. Our insanely pro-Israeli press and broadcasting makes Haaretz reporting look like radical human rights campaigning.

I've posted a couple of cartoons by López in this thread before.

This one was published in Galicia Confidencial over Christmas, a Gaza themed nativity scene, it needs no words.

After sharing the cartoon in their facebook and instagram, the posts were removed by moderators because "It appears to threaten, or harass other people, or the content or messages or content you have published are meant to shame or disrespect".

You can read the cartoonist response, in galician, here, google translate does a reasonable job.

According to the BBC this morning a ceasefire is imminent. Netanyahu apparently being told to get on with it by Trump's envoy.
Which raises the obvious question of why Biden was unable to do this a lot earlier. It's not a question the BBC will ask.

Not an official announcement, but, Trump claiming deal struck, and, hostages released. It is on BBC national News at 6.

Sadly, I doubt this will actually be “the end”.

Naturally, Trump claiming credit.

In my opinion, both Trump and Biden are demeaning themselves in their trying to claim the credit for themselves. They seem unable to recognise that this is about those suffering horrendous conditions caused by the war not about how the public regard a couple of aged politicians who should have done more a long time ago..

The ceasefire is set for 19 January, so you can be sure the Israeli terrorists will ramp up their bombing and sniping for these last few days. And it definitely won’t end on 19th January for Israel or any of Netanyahu and his government. There are still war crime prosecutions needed and sanctions to impose. Israel will never lose the stain of this.

On the first part I hope you're wrong but I doubt it, watching the people of Gaza celebration the news yesterday my first thought was, crowding together like that will just make for an easy target for the Israeli's right up to when it's supposed to start leading to reprisals from Hamas and their backers giving the Israelis just the excuse they need. Like I said I hope you're wrong.
On the second part I hope you're right but again I doubt it.

There's reporting in the graun that Israel won't ratify the ceasefire yet, accusing hamas of trying to get concessions beyond what was agreed. It doesn't look good.
