I believe it was trivialising, and certainly did not suggest you agree with Trump

This is what I suspect Multitool meant when referring to sealioning. You continually pose questions to which you know there are no defined answers, but never putting forward your own ideas or solutions In an attempt to always seem reasonable.

The last part of your post is ridiculous as I assume, if I said "no more than a few generations" you would have questioned whether I was suggesting four.

As you wish

If Trump is stupid enough to go ahead with this nonsense, I can see it being a fertile breeding ground for yet more violent dissent. Only this time Americans will be near, if not at the top of the list of targets.

I was not trivialising, and, I was not agreeing with Trump's suggestion. I was questioning the "send them back where they came from" bit.

My question was "how many generations before you become a "native"?", so far, no answer, unless you are suggesting more than 3 will do it?
Here's my answer.

If you are a zionist it's enough to step off the plane.
If you are Palestinian 1300 years isn't enough.

I get your point, but, I am neither of those categories, and, don't see either of them as helpful to the current Gaza/Israel situation, or, indeed, to the wider migration situation.

If Trump really believes that taking over Gaza and turning it into a middle Eastern Disneyland for well-off Yanks and Israelis is a good idea and will help peace in that area then he really is deluded, and even more senile than Biden. It will make those neighbouring countries who are prepared to accept Israel (even reluctantly) turn against it and ensure a permanent state of terrorism and violence. The US public would soon turn against having even more of their military actively involved in permanently fighting those A-rabs, never mind sending a message to other tyrants that national borders are up for grabs.

He is up to his usual negotiating trick of coming up with an explosive first salvo to frighten the opposition and then swiftly rowing back on it or letting it fade away when the reality, or more sensible counsel, sets in. He is limited and arrogant enough to believe that his approach to doing a business deal is no different to running a country and dealing with world security.

It's hard to know to what degree this is a planned strategy. He seems to try and scare people, whether it be domestic opponents and, possibly more importantly, allies. Ditto internal opponents and allies.

He has launched a tarrif war against his principal UN security council opponents, has ignored Russia, and is trying to scare other UN Security council countries by signalling that he may pull out of NATO.

Who is he trying to scare with this?

It's as well to remember that his first presidency was characterised by chaos, incompetence and a lot of noise.
