Article "Israel indefinitely delays Palestinian prisoner release as hostages freed"

Daft but I suspect it might be a test. Israel unilaterally breaks the ceasefire agreement. However distasteful the way Hamas are releasing their hostages, as far as I can see it complies with the ceasefire agreement so Netanyahu decides to break it anyway. Won't inspire confidence in the negotiations for the next phase of the ceasefire.

But I wonder if it's Israel testing the US. Are the US going to go along and support Israel or are they going to tell Israel "adhere to the agreement, NOW!". Israel have left themselves a loophole so if the US tell them to comply behind the scenes Netanyahu can just announce they have received the reassurances and immediately comply. But if the US go along with Netanyahu then whatever Hamas agree to Netanyahu can stick with "Not adequate assurances".

Any assurances Netanyahu wants can be built into the next ceasefire agreement and don't need to be given now so no point in breaking the agreement at this point for the assurances - just include the requirements in the phase 2.

So my (without evidence) suspicion is it's testing the stance and resolve of the US.

Ian

It's not a test.

Israel know they can act with impunity.

Told us what? Your last suggestion was that the bomb finding reports were faked. This report says 2 Israelis were arrested for helping, possibly by transporting the bombers from one area to another.

"Benjamin Netanyahu said the release was now going to be delayed until the next handover of hostages by Hamas was guaranteed".

With the spectacle they put on when returning hostages and hostage remains it's almost as if Hamas don't want the ceasefire to hold.

Nothing Hamas ever does will be good enough in the eyes of Netanyahu.

Before it gets tediously brought up again, I think that Hamas are a pack of d!ckheads too.

But in the game of Top Trumps where nobody wins, Israel are worse.

Don't lie, I said no such thing.

I said the bombers were likely Israeli Jews...

Yes, but problem is the terrorists planting the bombs are Jews.

They've got a long history of planting bombs. You've heard of PM Menachim Begin, haven't you? He was a terrorist.

In fact he was the leader of the terrorist group that bombed the British and killed British people in the King David hotel.

And I was right.

No, you said ...

... suggesting the bombs weren't a genuine attempt at harm. If that last quote is talking about the bus bombs then you're admitting they are genuine but claim they were planted by Jews - not just 'Israelis'. I thought we weren't allowed to conflate religion with nationalities?

If your 'the ones planting the bombs are Jews' isn't about the buses, then we're back with you saying the bus bombs were fake.

Nobody disputes that there are Israeli sympathisers.

I know what I said, because I said it. The issue is you, as usual, putting on your own spin in a desperate attempt to score some sort of irrelevant cheap point.

If you look really carefully, you'll see that I went on to talk about Jewish terrorist, Menachem Begin. Why didn't I call him Israeli? Because there was no such thing pre 1948. Also, there are Israeli arabs as well as Israeli Jews. Using the word 'jews' avoids the ambiguity, and it's pretty clear I'm referring to Israeli Jews and not trying to make every diaspora jew accountable for the actions of other Jews, which is what you are attempting to insinuate.

Take a day off. You're boring.

I find your constant reminders to us that you bestride the forum like an intellectual colossus whilst flim flamming and not providing the receipts to be just as tedious.

If the quote about Begim wasn't about the bus bombs then we're back with quote 1 where you suggest they were fake because there were no injuries.

You can't even come up with your own insult lines. So unerringly dull.

No, that is (as usual) you placing your own inference on my post. I didn't "suggest the bombs were fake". 'Fake' bombs don't explode, you dimwit. I pointed out that there were no injuries.

In the second post I advanced the notion that the bombers were jews/Israeli Jews, and pointed out that the Israeli state was founded on the back of a campaign of terrorism, and that the 6th PM of Israel had been the leader of a terrorist gang who bombed the British in 1946.

The two Israelis arrested in Tel Aviv are suspected of attempted murder, and not just being mere taxi drivers. I note that there is also a reporting ban on the issue.

Doubtless you'll persist with your standard MO of trying to twist other people's words. It's so boring and inevitably you'll end up looking stupid, as you always do.

Aurora is bagging up on Monker's favourites

Then she will drop the MOAB of insults 😜

She will probably end up with a whole bombardment, given how much monkers tips the swear jar 😂

There was a Channel4 program recently, about, what they described as the "50 Years War", (ie the Palestine "situation"), have not finished watching it yet (only watched one part).

It does rather look as if they have left the possibility of a prequel, and, maybe a sequel open at some future date. 🙂

Some interesting use of language ie "illegal immigrants", fear on the part of the indigenous population of being "overwhelmed".

It's been going on far longer than that.
Zionist political violence refers to acts of political violence or terrorism committed by Zionists in support of establishing and maintaining a Jewish state in Palestine. These actions have been carried out by individuals, paramilitary groups, and the State of Israel and its military forces from the early 20th century to the present day, as part of the ongoing Israeli-Palestinian conflict.
