So the US is planning to supply aid via private firms. I can't say I'm particularly surprised but this is a terrible idea on many levels.

Isn’t much of the aid (not just Gaza) already supplied by what are, in effect, private companies. Oxfam etc may be Charities in name, but, in practice they operate in a very similar way to a private company, complete with well remunerated CEO (none of this blood sucking shareholders of course).

Well they think their corruption in aid now, just wait till you see the industrial scale it reaches now companies are going to be allowed to profit from it.

The comments by UK Lawyers for Israel (UKLFI), which came amid warnings of impending famine in Gaza, were condemned as “sickening” by the Palestine Solidarity Campaign (PSC).

To be fair, it *is* true. It will also lower the number of school places, reduce teenage pregnancy. The crime rate will be right down. There will be zero asylum seekers and a very low crime rate.

The question is, will Reform see "bombing the shoot out of the country" as a bold new policy?

I do agree it is very poor taste, but, it is quite possibly true, unlike some recent Israeli claims.

The way they collect donations in the uk and europe certainly is, both in setup at the companies house as in ways they run them.

Normally i would absolutely agree however, if we step back a little and realize how charities in crisis area often have to work, being supported by an private military company might be the better option.

What happened in Gaza for example is that Hamas controlled all aid coming into Gaza and/or instead of supplying the civilian Palestinian population, it became only hamas supporting population and clean water? forget it they needed their rocket laucnhers. Unrwa's corruption exist(ed) out of supplying reports that imply they still supply it and they everythin is ok .(which it clearly isn't.)
A PMC could oversee and enforce correct distribution of humanitarian aid.

This looked like the game plan all along, as noted in the BR Cake Stop thread. Hamas played their allotted part in Netanyahu's plan. It's a case of Occam's Razor, methinks.
