She definitely isn’t under her desk. The fact that even had to be stated is worrying.

That was my MP asking the question...

Speculation that Morduant did this on purpose - apparently a key "rule" is never repeat the question especially when it is one that is likely to generate headlines.

Other speculation is that the Tories will keep Truss limping along until May elections so she can take the inevitable drubbing as we enter into a horrible winter with fuel prices, mortgages, food and pretty much everything else escalating way beyond average salary increases. Then the new PM can start without any baggage. Although how often the Tories can "start afresh" whilst simply rotating the cast is highly debatable.

May is 7 months away! Surely she can’t hold on that long.

As long as the tory press are around to cover for them they'll be able to get away with it.

Is there anybody who is competent to lead the country through the next couple of years without pretending that actually everything is OK? The economic situation is serious as is the war in the Ukraine. Viewing this from my usual distance it seems quite frightening there seems to be no-one to give real leadership. Lurching to the right is no answer if the Titanic has already hit the iceberg, nor rearranging the deckchairs as is currently happening.

Truss had absolutely no mandate for the mini budget that wasn't and isn't, the tories need to call an election, and assuming they would be defeated go in to opposition and re-form. If she had even a homeopathic amount of integrity she should go. One failed prime minister after the other - it will soon be difficult to remember all their names!

I think Hunt is the first politician to discover that honesty with the electorate results in a degree of credibility.

All the others from all parties seem still to be in denial, telling us that it will be alright so long as we give them our vote and trust (for them maybe it will).
