The tragedy is that people will forget.

Of course they will. Who remembers the 50’s, 60’s, 70’s?

So what do we reckon ? Is she gone by today or latest tomorrow? What an absolute shambles of a government. Reading on twitter , that we could all be worse if now by £2000 average a household a year ? With the reversal of the budget .

I guess that depends on how you define worse off, the aim of the u-turns is to stabilise a market and bring down borrowing costs for the government which in the longer term can be a good thing. Regarding the energy cap, yes it has been reduced from 2 years to 6 months, but then the aim is to make it targeted to those who need it which is a good thing. Don't get me wrong, I don't agree with huge numbers of the governments policies, but these u-turns are less bad than before.

As for Truss going today or tomorrow, not a hope (unfortunately).

I can’t see how she gets to PMQs on Wednesday.
It would be an absolute blood bath.

Labour has tabled an urgent question about the sacking of KK, which takes place at 3:30 tomorrow. In the normal run of things, it's up to Truss to have the answers. If she sends a lackey to answer (likely), then she ends up half-toasted. Starmer will then only have to turn her over on the grill on Weds to finish her off.

You think that will stop her?

I don't expect an apology or resignation from her soon, I do expect her to repeat a few stock phrases ad nauseum.

Now that markets have stabilised, I can't see it happening just yet.
If Labour call a vote of no confidence, Conservative MPs will not vote for it.
While there are dissenting voices, there seem to be few willing to voice publicly.
I am sure that after the blood letting with May and Johnson, Conservative party managers will be trying to work out who would be suitable candidates who may win them the next GE, and how to get them to the top job, without too much blood on the floor of Conservative HQ.
