Which is why the Tories are desperate to stave-off a general election right now, even getting Boris back they're so scared....

That is why it is a waste of time even speculating about there being a GE soon, never mind about the Tories being annihilated.
As we have seen in the past two years a lot can change in that time.
It is nothing to do with what  should happen.

It just highlights the nonsense of FPTP.
Lib Dems have 11% with 11 seats.
SNP have 4.4% with 48 seats.

Not supporting FPTP, but, isn’t that partly due to unequal constituency size, and, the “mix” of voters within a constituency?

It's partly due to a lot of things, including the above, but at the end of the day still means their share in the parliament of the country does not represent the number of people who vote for them and deserve fair representation.

Agreed, I said I wasn’t supporting it (FPTP)

In fairness, wouldn't any party "stave-off" a general election, if they thought they were going to lose? Isn't the general idea to win?

Yes, it's what Starmers been working on!
But the Tory faithful believe Boris has talismanic properties, and they need time for him to exert his charm and lead them to Nirvana....

IMO we have, thankfully, become a more diverse group of countries. How does anyone think an electoral system that only allows two parties in each country to have a chance of success is going to contain and represent that diversity?

I'm not surprised that there are huge struggles and tensions in the Tory and Labour parties, and that the search for unity is so fruitless.

We need some kind of PR so that more people can feel represented.
