It is Devon, in a brand new house that I doubt will be in a 'poor' area.

It seems like Brexit has taken it's toll on Foodle and he's had to set his cruise control to 50 down from 60 In order to save a few bob.

I wonder if he's out supporting the striking postal workers or BT employees and donating to his local food bank.

I've always looked on people like that as total hypocrits to be honest, apart from what these people say or the way they vote what makes them any different from your average Tory voter?

How many on here have or have had their own business, how many have a big company pension (someone on here has one that's 'just below the high tax rate' apparently) how many are 40% earners I wonder?

What the f**k do they know about having to choose 'heating over eating ' yet they're on here spouting off about Tory this and Brexit that yet go home to a luxury life, laughable.

Ahh the classic line that if you're well off any bending towards socialism is, at least until you've given your money away, hypocrisy.

Until you're poor yourself at which point you advocate socialism out of jealousy.

I'm fortunate. Mortgage paid off, good pension and inherited well.

I speak to people choosing heat/eat on, literally, a daily basis.

You may well do but what do you do that makes you any different to me apart from you vote Labour (I guess).

You make no valid point or change my view at all so what is your post proving?

Shep, a thought experiment for you:

If you didn't know what you were going to be,* what kind of world would you want to be born into?

* male/female, rich/poor, black/white, disabled/ not disabled, Villa fan/Wolves fan, neurodivergent/boring, etc/etc, etc/etc.

I bet you an andouillette to a beef Wellington it's not the one we are all sustaining now.

Do you believe that anyone who is comfortably off, or is not struggling financially, cannot support the Labour Party, or left-wing, policies or dislike the policies and actions of the Tory government?

There are many people active in supporting political parties or activities designed to help families/people who are disadvantaged, but the vast majority limit their practical involvement to voting at elections or displaying party flags at election time. Does that make their views irrelevant?

In my view voting Labour does make anyone different to you in that their vote is not contributing to empowering a Tory government and policies that do more to help the wealthy/privileged than they do the lower paid and disadvantaged.

I am not sure that posts are likely, or need to, prove anything, or to change anyone's mind, other than to give the posters' viewpoints...on a political opinion forum in the same way as what you say proves nothing, other than that you disagree with many posters.
