Well folks you read it here first!

Yep, during the period when there will be next to no trains available, rail companies are recommending that people don't take the trains that aren't running.:wacko:

Well I'm only guessing they're trying to make sure people don't still turn up at the station?

Another good one from the BBC today presumably written by Phil Space:-

Six trees in Blackpool town centre cost £174k, council says

https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-lancashire-61917305

More accurate would be:-

Six trees in Blackpool town centre cost £174k which came from a fund for street improvement provided by Government which could only be used for that, so what's the problem?

or
Conservative councillor fails to understand own government funding in huge self-own.

A new entry from the BBC:
The University of Cambridge received "significant benefits" from slavery, a report has found.
The study was carried out by the Legacies of Enslavement Advisory Group, appointed in 2019 by the university's vice-chancellor, Stephen Toope.
https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-cambridgeshire-62999844

Apparently parallel studies have found that woodlands have received significant benefit from ursine fertiliser and that Vatican City has received significant benefits from Catholicism and association with the Pope.
