lets wait 40yrs to see if brexit was a success, rather than judging it after a year or two.....i mean thats how long we was in the european union and will take more than a few years to unwind some of the euro process's.

but i know thats not what you all want to hear.

By which time most people who advocated and voted will be rather conveniently dead. There's a tradition of doomsday prophets and apocalyticists predicting the end of the world in a timescale which is close, but just outside their probable lifespan. This is a continuation of that tradition.

But the ones who advocated joining could probably tell you some perceived benefits within a few years, not forty. And few people can expect to die within three years compared to forty.

Benefits in forty years time are no use to me and of limited use to my children. Possibly my grandchildren, who knows? It's simply a way of avoiding responsibility.

not avoiding, just iving my opinion and view...i dont think anyone expected the benefits of brexit can be analysed in detail within the first few years......

Strange that nobody thought to mentioned it was going to take that long. So the downsides take immediate effect and the sunny uplands the next 40 years to arrive.
I don't recall seeing that on the side of a bus...

What rot..
40 years, man.??

Don't be so gloomy.

We're already seeing the wondrous effects of brexit, its here right now!!

Far less of that annoying trade with our neighbours.
Far less economic activity, lighter burden of money in our pockets , or the tax coffers for that matter, so none of the stress of having to spend it.

Far more time in our lives to just stare at the sky and wonder ..

Fewer of those annoying forriners staffing our hospitals, working our fields, setting up businesses and serving graciously in our hospitality..

Making us all look lazy.

Meanwhile they've already started the process of rolling back EU processes.
We don't have to wait 40years..Oh no!!

Or local beach has already had an unscheduled sewage discharge..
Hurray!!
And no one can tell them not to!!

No more of those pristine blue flag beaches..

After all, as we know, the plucky British dipper, likes nothing more than taking a bathe 'mongst plucky Britisher turds..
So invigorating, and doubtless great for the intestinal biome. ..

And now, better still, us farmers...
We're allowed to go back to killing all those filthy bees and pollinators with all the lovely poisons , without pesky Eurocrats telling us we shouldn't.. Those meddling fools..

But then, it gets better-- Fantastic 'free trade' deals to utterly crush the UK farming sector..
No more tractors on the roads here..

Brilliant for us cyclists again!!

Human rights??
Schuman rights..
Who needs them..??

Tbh I thought it would take us much much longer to return to the glory days of spam fritters, salad cream for the meagre rations, and bri-nylon knickers..

All as a glorious accompaniment, to pinched narrow minded, little inglinder attitudes .

But lo, tis already upon us.. !!

Huzzah...

Waves a flag about a bit..

Righto then, what are the benefits of Brexit @jowwy?

Because, it's a question that's been asked of numerous posters on here, and generally in public, with the response being the square root of f*ck all. However, if you've found some we would all be interested to hear them.

the benefits are whatever people want to make of brexit........thats upto the individual, not my job to tell anyone how to feel.
