Oh my , you're good.

If I ask nicely, will you go to town on me?? I promise to be more "grateful" than jowwy.

Your know fun!

Your post prompted me to examine my actions, and I realise I may have been unfair.
Twice I've defended Jowwy when he's been misquoted, and twice he's gone on the attack as a result of his misunderstanding.
I should have considered that English might not be his first language, and made due allowance.

Having said that, I must admit I find the cant really irritating!

I've been thinking about the languages thing, and I don't know if it's just me, probably, I'm a weird c*nt, but whenever I watch something featuring a language I know (The Boys in this case), French especially, I just start thinking and speaking in that language. I have no idea why this happens.

As an example, I nearly bumped into an old fella when I was nipping out to the shop the other day, where I live has a hedge and if someone comes round the corner at the same time you can't see them until you're practically on top of them. Apologised, and because he seemed like a decent cove started asking him about his day and what not. He looked increasingly baffled and then I realised I was talking French to him. He had a good laugh which was fun.

Yes, in my experience, language skills are not easy, I struggle to even speak my native language correctly. I have worked in numerous Countries, and, did try to learn the language, but, never managed to get beyond being able to buy food and drink. I just assumed I was either thick or idle, or, possibly both.

I am more than a little envious of your language skills.

Two of my grandchildren are being brought up in a bi-lingual household. The elder one has been fluent in both languages from the moment he began to talk. Not so sure what is going to happen with his sister (she is Downs Syndrome), her talking progress has been slower, but, it will be interesting to see if she too can speak both languages interchangeably eventually.

Nah, if you're able to buy the necessities, you're doing really well, so nice one!

What is it your grandchildren are being raised with?

English and (Mexican) Spanish. The older one has added French and Latin, via school.

Class! My version of Spanish is also Mexican. There's a lot of varieties, but they'll get by.

Wait, what?
Was the oven ready deal a complete crock, have all those leave voters that have been telling us that Johnson got Brexit done been mugged off, again?

Silly old Express, always behind the curve

Don't they know, Brexit is done, dusted, and the sunny uplands are just on the horizon .

OK the 'horizon' is about 50 years off, at least, but that's the trouble with people, always in such a big old hurry..
