Sorry, Brexit has caused the extra checks, which I have no problem with, it's just the implementation of these checks that has obviously been crap.
Yep, I think everyone is in agreement with you @shep. Unusual I know!

However, the Conservatives were told time and time again that leaving the single market would create a customs nightmare and time and time again they have stuck their fingers in their ears and spaffed on about sovereignty.

Remember the automated customs checking software that they said would sort it out, but which didn't exist? It still doesn't exist!
Remember Northern Ireland? The latest wheeze to try and sort out NI customs is to treat Northen Ireland as a pseudo country for trade movements to and from the mainland. It just doesn't work and it can't work.

We need someone with a brain running the country. The Tories just don't have anyone available, and I'm not sure Labour do either.

So is it brexits fault or the governments fault???

Both.

So calling someone a jackass is a grown up response……nice

I didn't call anyone a jackass. I'm not American. The response was as grown up as most of your posts. I thought you'd appreciate me chatting to you on your own level.

Jesus Christ on a bicycle, will you please learn to read - even if it is just your own words.
These are your actual words, which you posted in a response to me.

I assumed that you were just too dense to realise that the gif conveyed "talking out of your arse", but you seem to have the memory of a goldfish also.

I'm putting you back in your box now (i.e. ignore button).

Nice to listen top the CEO of Eurotunnel not once blame brexit for the issues at the ports on the weekend, but did blame a huge crash on the M20 and traffic diversions put in place.........but that will be called lies by the remoaner population, cause they only want to blame one thing.

Obviously a crash, diversions and delayed staff will all contribute to jams and delays approaching passport control.

Just as obviously, the additional passport checks required for non-EU members will take longer. It's not rocket science.

Why on earth did I click "see ignored content"?

no problems with additional checks according to him, eurotunnel process ran smoothly and more cars and trucks went through than originally planned.....but hey what does he know

Three thoughts:
  1. It's widely reported that Eurotunnel passengers were caught up in the Dover gridlock delaying their arrival and likely preventing the facility from being overwhelmed.
  2. The fact that the terminal is configured for a single operator with check in before formalities helps smooth things compared with Dover where formalities are, of necessity, before the operators' check ins which have to feed the assembly areas for the linkspans used by each carrier's vessels
  3. In an echo of Eric Morecambe they had all the passengers but not necessarily in the right order....
