Some people like to let their children choose their own way in life rather than deciding for them. I did, what's your view?

I wonder if the people who get most het up about other people frequently pointing out the reality of the clear disadvantages of Brexit six years after the decision are those people who don't like to accept or admit that they were duped into buying a pig in a poke, nor that they are unable to point out the benefits promised.

i dont have children.....and never will

It seems to me that posts are more likely to get missed when people do not have others on ignore - there's simply too much noise.

In the apparent absence of any way to reach an outright victory, engaging with the opponent will only drag the player down, which seems to be the aim. Think of how it goes in American Football: the defense will try to prevent the offense from playing by impeding them. The winning offensive moves invariably come from players who have avoided becoming impeded. So, by analogy, avoid the opponent.

Yeah I get that..
I was just faintly humorously pointing out that FF had linked to an article I had just posted just up page, but hey no matter maybe it was worth repeating ...

Otherwise, despite not being much of a sport afficianado, I get the analogy.

From a personal pov it's gone far beyond the idea of 'winning' ..
It's much more about trying to limit further damage.

Whilst also being aware how we can be manipulated into believing that something will be 'good' for our country, when all evidence, and expert advice shows to the contrary.

I think we may have..
Or I've seen it elsewhere anyhow.

Lies lies lies and more lies .What a bunch of con men.

How could so many have been convinced by such a bunch of utter charlatans ??

Along similar lines to what I suggested to someone else earlier, those who invested a lot of their credibility in the success of Brexit probably realise it was a dud but, as politicians, cannot climb down and admit they were wrong.

They cannot surely be stupid enough not to see the distinct lack of benefits, and the many disadvantages.

But that is politicians for you, particularly Tories, who pride themselves on their oh so superior economic, trade and financial judgement, but now have to settle for "taking back control".

I'm sure they can see the distinct lack of benefits..

But will use just about any possible technique to deflect attention and blame elsewhere..

Covid came at just the right time for those seeking to blame shift..
And Russia's invasion of Ukraine

Easy to see why a weakened EU would have benefitted the now very evident expansionist plans of Putin.

But of course it's those pesky Europeans, making our lives 'difficult'

They wouldn't just let us leave 'the club' whilst retaining all 'the club' benefits ..

What a bunch of barstewards eh??

I clearly owe you a TMN!

Ahem, I have 4 tiny wheeled bicycles....

Ah well yes that makes total sense really ..

A closet tiny-wheeler.. :cycle:

Look out on the Devon back roads then..
They seem to have stopped fixing potholes circa 2019, and never got started up again.

You really could lose a whole wheel in some of them
