There are also restrictions on goods you can take into (some?) EU countries, as a result of Brexit.

No-one turning up in any EU nation, pre-brexit, were allowed to sponge off whatever state they were living in until they either became permanent residents or stayed in that country for several years, paying tax.
Hence the 90 day rule that I mentioned earlier.

You seem to forget that the single market covered things like social security, tax, pensions and residency.
That has all gone now, so the 'ability' to work abroad has been made much harder.
If you do apply for a job in the EU your potential employer has to give preference to candidates from other EU countries.
I feel sorry for those who wish to broaden their horizons and experience who can no longer do so.

The huge irony of Brexit is that we are now rule takers. Previously, we were one of the three key players in making the rules and much of EU law came from us. We called the shots. Brexiteers cast this myth that we would be able to do what we liked, sticking Churchill's two fingers up the French and Germans (after all, we won the war).
Now here we are 6 years down the line, with still no agreement on NI, still issuing empty threats about the protocol, the worst
economic recovery in G8, and scarce fruit and veg on our supermarket shelves.
The puerile response of Brexiteers is to pretend that it is all about the vote, and that the actual living consequences of the thing they voted for don't matter
